Web Design Agencies In Ohio

Listed

Ohio is a state where your business use of a site can matter for tax, because the state taxes automatic data processing, computer services and electronic information services for use in business. That makes the ongoing hosted part of your project worth a question. The seven agencies below cover Columbus, Greater Cleveland and the Cincinnati area, and they range from a Cleveland designer that removed its contact form to a Mason firm that became a full digital marketing company.

Company Base on its site Work it names Price it publishes
Robintek Columbus and Akron area WordPress, hosting, SEO, map management Ask
Split Reef Columbus WordPress, Shopify, web and mobile apps Ask

Web design agencies in Columbus

Robintek

Robintek describes itself as a Columbus web development, SEO and graphic design company and lists an Akron/Canton location as well. It builds on WordPress and also offers custom map designs, email newsletters and content writing. Named work includes Metro Parks and Innovative Percussion. A park system or multi-site group can ask about the map work.

Split Reef

Split Reef calls itself a Columbus web design company and also shows a Florida number. It builds on WordPress, Shopify, Drupal and Node.js, plus web and mobile apps, and names work for a Columbus homebuilder and a law firm. Colin Maher appears as owner. If you need a web application, ask which staff would write it and how support runs afterward.

Web design agencies in Greater Cleveland

Go Media

Go Media says William Beachy founded it in 1997. It builds responsive, easy-to-edit sites with its own page builder tool on WordPress and offers ecommerce. It says it leases AWS servers and offers hosting only to its own clients, so ask what it costs to move off them, and which ongoing fees are required.

Sixth City Marketing

Sixth City says it has worked since 2010, is headquartered in Northeast Ohio, and manages over $2 million in campaign spending across more than 25 clients. Its team works in WordPress and Shopify, though SEO and PPC lead its pitch. If your site is the first step, ask whether it takes website projects without a marketing retainer.

Chameleon Graphix

Chameleon Graphix says it has served small businesses since 1998 with web design, print graphics and hosting, and it will also take over updates on sites built with WordPress, Wix or Shopify. It removed its contact form because of spam, so you call instead. An owner who just wants someone to handle edits has a clear fit.

Web design agencies in Cincinnati

Pixels & Dots

Pixels & Dots offers branding, web design, logos and photography, and its approach starts with why your company exists and how it differs. Client notes name Monte and Angela. A new company without a clear identity can start here. Ask whether photography comes with a site package or is priced apart.

Legend

Legend says it began in 2002 as a Cincinnati web design firm and has since become a full-service digital marketing company. Its case studies report results such as a 78% rise in social engagement. Ask how much of its team still does website work, and which of those results came from a site project.

Ohio’s tax on computer services for business use

Ohio Administrative Code 5703-9-46 says “The provision of automatic data processing services, computer services, or electronic information services in this state for a consideration for use in business by the consumer is a sale that is subject to the sales tax.” The rule goes on to define and limit those categories, and it does not mention building a website.

A one-time design fee and a monthly service are different questions. Search the Ohio Department of Taxation’s sales and use tax FAQ for its answer on charges for creating a web site, then ask your agency how it treats design, hosting and monthly care. Take anything significant to your accountant. The Ohio Secretary of State’s business search can confirm a company’s legal name.

Recurring fees and hiring by city in Ohio

Which fees might recur after launch?

Domain, hosting, software licenses and support, at least. Go Media’s FAQ covers some of these, so read it and put the same questions to anyone else on this list.

Do I need a firm from my own city?

Not unless you want in-person work. Robintek lists both Columbus and Akron/Canton, and Sixth City says it serves businesses nationwide. Ask where meetings would happen.

Where to start in Ohio

For a web or mobile application, begin with Split Reef. A brand-new company can try Pixels & Dots. Cleveland-area businesses can compare Go Media for design with Chameleon Graphix for ongoing care, and those focused on search should talk to Sixth City. In Cincinnati’s northern suburbs, Legend suits a business that wants marketing on top of a site, and in Columbus, Robintek suits a public body or a business with maps to manage.

Each profile comes from a company’s own home and contact pages as read in November 2026. Their figures are unaudited, and this is not a ranking.
