Web Design Agencies In Texas

Listed

Texas rule 3.330 calls website creation, repair and maintenance taxable data processing services in the situations it describes, with twenty percent of the charge exempt, so plan on sales tax on most of a Texas website bill. Six agencies follow in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas, and their published prices run from packages at $950 to projects of $25,000 to $75,000 and up. This is a small sample for a state this size, chosen from firms whose sites we could read.

Web design agencies in Houston

OWDT

OWDT presents itself as a Houston web design company working with global enterprises and start-ups, with design systems, analytics tracking and SEO, and it lists Webby, W3 and Davey awards. It says you take ownership of the new site and are covered by a maintenance plan after launch. Ask which plan comes with the build, and its price after the first term.

Connective

Connective says web design projects typically run $25K to $75K+, and rebrands $30K to $80K+. CEO and founder Rodney Warner writes that it is not the fit for the lowest price or fastest timeline. It offers senior specialists and an outsourced marketing department. If you are below that budget, look at other firms first.

Kreative Media

Kreative Media says it is headquartered in Texas, with Dallas and Austin addresses too, and combines creative, paid media and other services under one model. Marketing leads its pitch. If your first need is a site, ask whether it would quote one alone, and who would write the pages.

Web design agencies in San Antonio

Strottner Designs

Strottner says it has built custom sites since 2002 and that website packages start at $950, asking you to request an accurate quote. It adds logo design, social media, CTV, local services ads and email. It also publishes city pages well outside Texas, so ask where your team would be, and who would meet you if you are in San Antonio.

Web design agencies in Dallas

Red Spot Design

Red Spot says it has created thousands of custom sites and shows 413 Google reviews, working in WordPress and Elementor. Client notes name David and Diana. It takes requests through an online estimate form, and it states the kinds of content it will not design for. Ask how much of your site can be edited by you after launch.

Big D Creative

Big D Creative says it has offered web design and development in Dallas since 2001, and it handles SEO, content writing, paid search, hosting and ecommerce. It describes both local and virtual ways of working. Ask to see an ecommerce rebuild and how it kept an existing store’s rankings and order history intact.

The Texas tax on website work

Texas Administrative Code, 34 TAC § 3.330, says “Website creation, repair, and maintenance are taxable data processing services when they involve the storage, manipulation, compilation, and entry of data.” It adds that “simply developing a blueprint or plan for a website is not data processing services,” and that “Twenty percent of the total amount charged for data processing services is exempted from tax.”

So a $10,000 taxable charge would have $8,000 subject to sales tax, for example. A planning-only phase may sit outside this, and bundled charges have their own rule, so ask your agency how it splits the invoice. For a larger project, check with the Texas Comptroller’s data processing guidance or your accountant. The Secretary of State’s SOSDirect service holds entity records for checking a legal name.

Planning phases and Austin coverage in Texas

Should I ask for a planning phase separately?

It can clarify scope either way, and the rule treats a plan differently from a build. Ask for a discovery quote, and ask how tax applies to it and to what follows.

Why is Austin not listed?

We kept the three metros this listing covered before and added only firms we could read and place. Austin buyers can use the same questions, starting from Kreative Media’s Austin address if they want a name.

Texas first calls by budget

If your budget is at or above Connective’s range and you want senior attention, start there or with OWDT. Marketing-led businesses can compare Kreative Media with Strottner. A San Antonio small business with a tight budget can begin with Strottner’s packages, and Dallas owners can compare Red Spot’s WordPress process with Big D’s broader service list.

Company details here are from their own pages as of November 2026, and we did not verify awards or review counts. No ranking is implied.
