Web Design Agencies In Mississippi

Listed

Mississippi’s Department of Revenue says taxable services “include the design and creation of a web page,” so expect sales tax on a Mississippi website invoice unless you learn otherwise. Four Mississippi firms made this list, in the Jackson area, on the Gulf Coast and in northeast Mississippi. Two of them sit in Ridgeland and differ mainly in how much AI and app work they offer.

Company Base on its site Work it names Price it publishes
Nuzu Marketing Ridgeland, serving Jackson Sites, SEO, ads, hosting, AI automation Ask
The Whit Group Towne Center Blvd, Ridgeland Websites, SEO, mobile apps, ecommerce Ask
Gulf Coast Web Gulfport Full-service digital, client dashboard Ask
C.H. Local Media MS-370, Baldwyn Web design, SEO, social, email Ask

Web design agencies in Jackson

Nuzu Marketing

Nuzu says it is based in Ridgeland and serves Jackson, and it lists web design, SEO, digital advertising, AI integration and hosting. Travis Finseth, its owner since 2000, also offers AI automation services under a Chief Automation Officer title. A named project is a WordPress site for The Overstreet Agency. Ask whether AI work is part of a site quote or a separate engagement.

The Whit Group

The Whit Group builds websites and mobile apps and works in Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento for stores, with SEO and consulting. A client note on its site mentions a new app built for an organization. If you plan to sell online, ask which of those three platforms it recommends for your catalog, and why.

Web design agencies in Gulfport

Gulf Coast Web

Gulf Coast Web says it is based in Gulfport and meets face to face or by phone or video. It provides monthly reports on its marketing services and a customer login to a dashboard. Ask what the dashboard shows, and what you keep if you stop paying for the service.

Web design agencies in northeast Mississippi

C.H. Local Media

C.H. Local Media markets to Tupelo and says it is located in Baldwyn, serving Mississippi and clients nationwide, with founder Chas Henry. It sells web design, SEO, social and email marketing. Its pitch speaks to owners unhappy with an earlier agency, so if that is you, ask what it would do first with your current site and accounts.

Mississippi’s tax on web page design

The Mississippi Department of Revenue’s business tax FAQ says “Taxable services include the design and creation of a web page.” The state’s administrative code, Title 35, says so too, adding “regardless of the location of the hosting server,” and says computer program license fees and maintenance contract income are taxable.

That wording leaves little room to treat a design fee as exempt. Before you compare quotes, ask each agency whether its price includes Mississippi tax and how it treats monthly maintenance. If you use an out-of-state designer, ask your accountant whether you would owe use tax. The rules also list some consulting and data services as non-taxable, so ask the Department about any non-design items on the bill.

The Mississippi Secretary of State’s business search is where to confirm the name on your contract.

Tax in the quote and distance in Mississippi

Does the tax change my choice of agency?

Not by itself, but it does change the comparison. Ask every firm for the same scope with tax shown separately, so a quote that leaves tax out does not look cheaper than one that includes it.

Can I use a firm from outside my part of the state?

Yes. Nuzu and The Whit Group both sit in the Jackson metro, and C.H. Local Media says it works nationwide. If you are in Southaven or Hattiesburg, ask how they would handle site visits, or look in your own area with these same questions.

Which Mississippi firm to call first

For a store or a mobile app, begin with The Whit Group. If you want to automate parts of your business along with a site, talk to Nuzu. Coastal businesses that want local meetings can call Gulf Coast Web. A Tupelo-area owner replacing a previous agency can start with C.H. Local Media.

Four firms is a short list, and it reflects the companies whose own sites we could read and place in Mississippi in November 2026. Their claims are their own, and this is not a ranking.
