Web Design Agencies In Massachusetts

Listed

Seven Massachusetts agencies are listed here, and they split clearly by the client each one is built for: colleges at ERI Design, B2B companies at GoingClear and Ladybugz, small Western Massachusetts businesses at Northern Logics and The Stack Group. Massachusetts revenue rules say web hosting and programming charges are generally not taxable, unless they are part of a taxable sale, so licensed software on your invoice still matters.

Web design agencies in the Boston area

GoingClear

GoingClear says it was founded in 2001 and spent 25+ years in Boston before moving to Lynnfield. Its core work is B2B websites, with WordPress and HubSpot CMS integration and post-launch management. Ask whether you can stay on your current CMS, and what its post-launch plan costs each month.

Ladybugz Interactive

Ladybugz describes itself as a women-owned agency for growth companies and lists custom WordPress with advanced search, resource libraries, integrations and ecommerce. It points readers to more than 50 Clutch reviews. If your site has a large document library, ask to see how search behaves on a client site of similar size.

Torro Media

  • Address: 200 Portland St, Suite 500, Boston, MA 02114; 458 Main St, Wilmington, MA 01887
  • Phone: (617) 229-6478
  • Email: info@torro.io
  • Website: https://torro.io/

Torro lists WordPress development and hosting, conversion design, SEO and paid campaigns, and it publishes comparisons such as WordPress against HubSpot. It offers a free consultation. A retailer or consumer brand fits its examples. Ask how it reports results and who your day-to-day contact is between the Boston and Wilmington offices.

Web design agencies in Worcester

ERI Design

ERI Design focuses on higher education and mission-driven organizations, with recent launches for Valparaiso, Susquehanna and Northwood universities and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. It also has a Portland, Maine office. A college will see relevant work here. Other buyers should ask whether their project would fit the agency’s focus.

Worcester Interactive

Worcester Interactive names Chris Dalton as founder and CEO and offers web design, business hosting with nightly backups and a stated 99.9% uptime guarantee, SEO and social. Ask what the uptime guarantee pays if it is missed, and whether you can take the backups with you if you leave.

Web design agencies in Springfield and Western Massachusetts

Northern Logics

Northern Logics says it has served Western Massachusetts for over 25 years, offering what it calls AI-powered custom design, SEO, Google Ads and hosting, with Joe named across client notes. It invites you to request a free AI-powered quote. Ask whether a person reviews that quote, and which part of the design a person actually does.

The Stack Group

The Stack Group says it is based in Agawam, builds sites without templates, and offers on-demand copywriting, SEO and social, available Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. It also takes texts at its main number. Ask for a sample of on-demand copy on a subject like yours, and for a single price that includes it.

What the Massachusetts regulation says

830 CMR 64H.1.3 on computer industry services and products says “Sales of custom software are generally exempt from sales tax as professional service transactions regardless of the method of delivery.” In its section on miscellaneous services, it says charges for web site hosting, designing computer systems, programming and the like are generally not taxable if they are not part of a sale of taxable items. Charges for prewritten software are taxable however delivered. We read a July 2026 archived copy.

That “if” is the point to check. A bundled price that includes a licensed theme or software could change the answer, and the regulation does not name website design as such. Ask for separate lines, and ask the Department of Revenue or your accountant about your contract. The Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Corporations Division search can confirm a legal name.

Boston addresses and Western Massachusetts choices

Does a Boston address matter?

It depends on whether you want to meet in person. Two of the three in the Boston section say their offices are outside the city, in Lynnfield and Hudson. Ask where your meetings would happen.

Should a small Western Massachusetts business look in Boston?

Not necessarily. Northern Logics and The Stack Group are both in Agawam and pitch local businesses. Compare them first, then go wider if you need a specialty neither one has.

Where to begin among these seven

Colleges and mission-driven organizations should start with ERI Design. B2B companies can compare GoingClear and Ladybugz, especially for HubSpot or resource-heavy sites. Brands that want SEO and ads with a site can talk to Torro. Worcester small businesses have a local option in Worcester Interactive, and Springfield-area owners can weigh Northern Logics against The Stack Group.

This page is based on each company’s own site as read in November 2026. Claims about reviews and uptime are theirs, and we list them in no ranked order.
